Frequently Asked Questions

I get asked lots of interesting questions about me and my books! You can read the most popular ones below. If you can’t find your question then drop me a line using the clever form below.

Which is your favourite book?

My very first book, which was called ‘The First Christmas’, because it was just so brilliantly exciting to be given a chance to create my first book. When I got the contract, my face ached I grinned so much! I have redrawn some of the pictures from this book for you to colour in, you will find them on the Colouring & Activities page. My other favourite is a book about a little girl called Flossie, who lived during WWII. She is very brave and very funny; I don’t know her very well yet, but when I do I’ll tell you some more about her.

Which do you enjoy doing most, the writing or the pictures?

It usually works out really well and just as I start to tire of the writing I can stop and put some pictures with the words. The thing I enjoy most is seeing how the words and pictures are going to fit together, and what part of the story can be told by the words and what part by the pictures.

How old are you?

As old as my nose and at least twice as old as you… probably!

Which book makes you laugh the most?

I think the Greek Myths. I just love all those naughty Greek gods, they behaved almost as badly as humans! If you would like to colour some of them in, or give them funny faces, why not look in Colouring & Activities where you will find that I have drawn some of them for you to print out.

Which book did you find the hardest to create?

I think it would have to be ‘Mr William Shakespeare’s Plays’, which was great fun to work on, but not easy! If you look at a page from the book, you will see that the people around the edge are meant to be Shakespeare’s audience.
