Throughout the year, I take part in a wide variety of events. I go on school visits, do comic strip workshops, speak at conferences for teachers and librarians, festivals, library openings and many other events.

I love these days away from my studio, as they are a wonderful chance for me to meet other people with a passion for children’s books, to share my enthusiasm with newcomers to the delights of children’s books, and best of all, to meet my readers.

I have stopped listing all my events, as I am hopeless at keeping the list updated - I could blame my web designer, but I won't, I'll take full responsibility! However, if you are interested in booking me for an event or finding out if I am visiting a venue near you, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales – Selected as one of the Best Books of 2007 by US School Library Journal

"Marcia Williams’ breathes new life into the classic stories, capturing the tone of the original tales but rendering them vivid and fresh. Her inimitable narrative technique combining prose, detailed illustration and humorous dialogue makes the tales accessible to readers of all ages and abilities. Her innovative mix of comic style frames, decorative technique and gorgeous colour palette makes each double page work as a unity. The snippets of Chaucerian language that pepper the pages are bound to delight young readers, who will enjoy imitating this style. A perfect introduction to Chaucer and a classroom essential."
